REMINDER: For those of you who have not been to Morse Mt, it is a conservation area and no dogs are allowed to protect the nesting birds. The dunes are also off limits. There are no bathrooms or changing areas, but we can be creative if necessary. The Seadog restaurant is in Topsham for those interested..very easy to find, and easy to get back to 295 afterwards. My cell phone is 557-1707.
Also, Deb has offered to ride-share from the Augusta area if anyone from that area needs a ride. Contact Deb if you are interested.

Some of us will be returning to school and work in a few weeks and we want to make the most of the end of the summer. Lets meet at the parking lot at Morse Mountain and walk through the woods to the beach for a couple of hours. If everyone brings a little something to snack on and extra to share, then that can do us for a light lunch. For those who want to continue on after the beach walking, The Seadog in Topsham is always a favorite spot! The Seadog has lots of seating and our arrival time there will be late afternoon so it shouldn't be too busy. However, depending on the size of the group continuing to The Seadog, we may have to sit at separate smaller tables.
Don't forget to bring something to drink, sunscreen, possibly bug spray and good shoes for walking through the woods. It's 1.6 miles in and the same distance out, plus whatever beach walking you decided to do.
This will be a great opportunity for new members (and potential Paris and Tuscany travelers and wait-listers) to meet old members. The cost of the Paris trip is subject to increase August 28th, so those thinking about it should keep that in mind. Also, Paris is beginning to fill up (6 of our members as well as a bunch from other parts of the US); very often large groups from other parts of the US sign up all at once taking most or all of the spaces. This will be a great trip with us staying in the Paris area the whole time..so much to do there. Also, those who have frequent flier miles can use them reducing the cost of their trip substantially.
Re: Tuscany. If your heart is set on a Walking Tour of the Tuscan hill towns in April, there is ONE SPACE AVAILABLE AND a waiting list but no one is on it! If you pay a $300 deposit (fully refundable) you will automatically be the first one in if someone drops out! There is a very good chance that someone will, hopefully from the other group. There are 12 of our group going, and 18 from other parts of the US. For those of you who have read Under the Tuscan Sun by Frances Mayes..these are the same towns we will be visiting and staying in...I am re-reading her books now and getting very excited already!
