STS Foundation is looking for families to host international exchange students this August. Host families need to provide room and board, meals, a safe nurturing environment, reasonable transportation and have a genuine interest in learning about a different culture.
Students range in age from 15-18 years old. Students will have money for personal items, activities, cell phones, etc. And come with their own health insurance. The school that the students will attend is dictated by the host family’s home address. Families are interviewed to find the best match for the students that are available.
Families of all shapes and sizes are invited to host including empty nesters, single parents, newlyweds, retired parents, and families with several kids at home or none. Matches are made according to personality, background, family structure, hobbies, interests, talents, affinity with animals and or pets, allergies, religion, academic interests, sports interests, maturity level, level of independence, musical interests and playing instruments.
Children of families that host will receive a scholarship to study abroad. The students will attend public high school for one academic year, which begins this August.
STS Foundation is a not-for-profit organization designated by the Department of State, a member of CSIET and has been raising cultural awareness through cultural exchange since 1986.
