What we're about
Coordinates Short-Term Individual and Group Projects that focus on creating cultural understanding by volunteering and living in the local international community.
We're looking for a minimum of five people to participating in a short-term international volunteer project. It's a great opportunity to travel with people with similar interests, learn about and be of service to other cultures.
Volunteers are expected to be flexible, patient, open, dependable, humble, enthusiastic and have a ready sense of humor. Rather than the typical “we’re going to help these poor people” mindset our program focuses on being students of the culture.
We'll meet and learn about possible upcoming volunteer trips. We'll coordinate ways to prepare for the volunteer project and then travel abroad. People can also share their experiences with international volunteering. Volunteers need to be 19 years old and will have to pass a background check to participate in a project. Volunteer program costs will vary.
Volunteer Ventures Abroad is a program of ERDT. ERDT has had 40 years of experience creating cultural exchange programs. Our program was recently listed as a participant in the citizen’s initiative America’s Unofficial Ambassadors, which works to build peace through service in the Muslim world.
