IoT and Social Applications/ Open Calls Tag It Smart

  • Needs a location

  • I will present a challenge that we will highly likely bring tp IoT -EPI in march in Berlin. We is the TagItSmart project ( This challenge would be for one day. This is in collaboration with AGILE and Big IoT.

    The Challenge: Scan to Share
Outcome: Storyboards, mood maps, data flow - slides and narrative.

Brief: We want you to work out to scenarios as business cases:

    1. Personalized: data to be exposed to a community of users (could include the supermarkets)

Develop a system where clients of shops (supermarkets, etc.) can scan a good and buy it for someone who needs it. The good remain at the shop and there's an online system where certified people in need can check what is available and reserve it. Ideal for foods that could be purchased just before the expiration date. Develop the concept, how it could work technically, and define ways to promote it, reward system for clients who participate. Currently, products approaching their best before date are displayed in separate shelves. If we use smart tags then this would not be required and similar to dynamic pricing we would be able to offer customers discount together with an option to donate the product.

    2. Anonymized data to be exposed through recommendation schemes in a market place

Consumers scan products in supermarkets (with respect to their delivery quality, e.g. temperature, …) and then offer those results on the marketplace (probably via a proxy). This information could then be used by a provider to offer a user app/service that allows users to find out how well supermarkets deal with their products in an anonymous way. How could this app scale?
What could be the benefit for shops?
How can you can combine it with other marketing models?
How can you combine data from the mobility domain with indoor location based information?

Looking forward to this, I've been exploring data gathered by supermarkets earlier this year - will bring what I have on that too!

Hi Rob, I see the date changed - would give us some more time to set things up, right?

Yes, indeed :) I have some project issues this month so I figured we have a bit more time. Also it is in time for the Open Calls.
