Intuitive painting workshop!

Heamoor

£5.00

This is a relaxed, friendly weekly workshop - every Saturday 2-4pm - in the hall next to St Thomas Church, Heamoor. We will explore painting intuitively - including ways to begin. Finding your creative flow. Painting as process, not to be 'good' (there is no 'right or wrong') ...letting go of control and self-judgement, and end results about 'what ought to be'. Being open to surprises, and layering/painting over... the first layer is not the last! Mark-making, adding text, collage, finger-painting, mixing media... There is an upstairs space for painting to music, dancing too if you wish! (It's a little cold so wear a jumper, although there is a heater.) We can explore painting after meditation/silent sitting - depending on the interests of the group. Exploring different media and substrates in future classes *** Please bring any paints, crayons, inks, charcoals that you wish. Cheap acrylic paints are absolutely fine for starting out and wonderful to play and experiment with. I have a few that you can borrow if needed. *** I have some A2 sheets of paper but feel free to bring all sorts of paper, all sizes, cardboard, canvas if you wish. *** Please bring brushes too - a variety of sizes - cheapy ones are absolutely fine! Also twigs, combs...anything for mark-making that you like! ***An apron/old shirt would be good, too. There are tea and coffee-making facilities and I have the basics - for a donation of 50p. It costs £5 for the two hours, to cover hall fees and Meet-up fees. Any questions, please do not hesitate to message me - I'll try to answer as soon as I can. The venue will hold a maximum of 10 intuitive painters. *** Please see Photo Album here for intuitive painting examples. *** You can also see examples on the 'Paintings' tab on my website www.rowenascotney.com
