Capital City Pride Parade

Ride on the IAF float, help carry the IAF banner, walk in the parade and hand out candy and t-shirts, or help with the booth! Always a good time!

This is a big event and we will need as many people as possible to set up, decorate the float (a pickup truck), walk or ride in the parade, run the booth, and finally to tear everything down at the end of the day. Please come out if you can, even if it's only for a few hours.

Please do RSVP so we know how many we can expect and note what time you're available to help. We don't have specifics yet but setup will probably be around 9:00 AM and tear-down will be around 6:00 PM. Unfortunately we don't know the exact location for our table but last year we were on Locust, near E. 5th.

Parade starts at 1:00, staging is usually around noon on the east side of the Capitol.

I'd like to thank everyone who came out and participated in this year's parade. We had over 30 people participate this year and a good time was had by all.

The crowd loved us and the Uncle Sam in bed with Jesus theme was a fantastic idea Dayna Pitcher!

For the first time in the history of the parade, I was able to go yell at two Christian protesters picketing the event until a nearby policeman told me to knock it off :-)

Everything looked cool once I was able to make it down. I'm just sorry I couldn't get there early enough to do anything of significance. Still, I nearly freaked when I saw the corn dog stand on the way out. LOL Had to have one of those. Don't care that it was $5. My niece was helping run on of the other food trucks so that was nice to see her for a few minutes.

Given my schedule at present, I'd be surprised if I made it for anything apart from tear-down but I'm going to try to make it for something.

I have been trying to get back in the habit of hitting more IAF meetings. This is a great opportunity to kick off more participation! :-)

My camera and I plan to be there, not sure what time yet but we don't want to miss any of the fun.

I put two, but we might have up to seven. We will have some kids with us. They might like throwing out the candy and riding the float. Thanks
