Join us monthly at the New York Irish Center for screenings of Irish Movies in a friendly, warm, sociable and intimate setting. Tea/Coffee & Popcorn are FREE and there is ample time to meet and mingle with your fellow Irish movie lovers. If you haven't been to the New York Irish Center, we are located very conveniently in the heart of Long Island City, only five mins. from Midtown Manhattan. The 7 train stops right outside our doors. If you're driving there's more than adequate street parking after 7pm. if you haven't been to Long Island City before we encourage you to come early and check out the beautiful waterfront views only minutes from our Center.

The Irish Movie Night Program has been running now for over three years and we've had the opportunity to showcase classic Irish Movies like "Waking Ned Devine," "In the Name of the Father," "The Quiet Man" and newer fare such as "The Guard," "The Bachelor Weekend" and "Once". We've also had U.S. premiere's of Irish movies including Gerard Hurley's, "The Pier" and this week "Dublin in Pieces".

In April we are screening Philomena (starring Judi Dench), May Good Vibrations (about the exploit of Terri Holley), June No Limbs No Limits (a documentary about the awe-inspiring life of Joanne O'Riordan) and July a comedy horror film Grabbers.

We also take great delight in showcasing up and coming Irish talent with our shorts program. We've shown many a delightful short film including the Oscar nominated "The Crush," "Me Bollix," and "The Wednesdays" and Oscar winner, "The Shore." Many of our screenings include a short and a feature and this coming Friday, we're showing the whimsical "Mr. Foley."

Tea/Coffee & Popcorn are served in our cozy downstairs bar and beer/wine are also available for sale at very reasonable prices. We have a seating capacity of approximately 60 seats so we encourage advance booking. Tickets for each show are Regular $11 and only $8 for Seniors, Students and the Unemployed.

If you need any further information about the program please email or call Christopher at 347 665 4085 (cell).
