What we're about
"It takes a village to raise a child" the old saying goes! Well my family needs you!
We just moved to Maple Valley after moving around western Washington the past 6 years. We are originally from Minneapolis, MN. We are a family who embraces all other families, regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation… you get the picture.
We have two kids, a 7 and 5 year old who love music, art, puppies, swimming, legos, science museums, birthday parties, being outdoors, and of course…sweets (the kids helped with this).
As Midwest transplants and a new family to the Maple Valley area, my husband and I have had a tough time finding other families to connect with. Things get busy and a lot of families already seem to be connected and doing their “thing.” If you’re like us and want to make new connections then let's create a strong, positive, supporting parenting tribe so we can show our children healthy, social interactions through fun gatherings. The activities could be around Maple Valley, however, we’re not opposed to hitting up places in the greater area, Seattle, or in the Cascades. We like hiking, camping, jamming to music, hopefully going out to see music (though, to be honest, it’s been awhile), seeing plays, going to museums, game nights, book clubs, picnics, making art, cooking, gardening, etc.
I believe it takes effort and time to build meaningful friendships and that we deserve to give ourselves time to get to know each other. Therefore, I hope our families can get together around once a month, preferably on Sunday afternoons. Sometimes with the kiddos and maybe sometimes without.
My family can't wait to meet your family!
