Blending the Tango Nuevo heat of Piazzolla and the serenity of counterpoint in Bach’s Art of the Fuge, the performance is augmented by tango dancers, dramatic lighting, and projected visuals of the artists performing. Astor Piazzolla was an Argentine tango composer and bandoneón player. Born in Argentina in 1921 to immigrant Italian parents.
