Thanks to you, Patty for organizing such a lovely gathering.
The new policy works for me.  Perhaps common courtesy will again become common.
Happy 4th, all........
Vincent

Subject: [diningout-319] Thank you and a New Policy

Hi folks,

Thanks to all those who came out to Pagliacci's last night - it was a lot of fun. I am also sorry to those folks who got automatically put on the RSVP list at the last minute by the Meetup system when folks dropped out. It didn't provide you much notice....

Because both David and I have had quite a few no-shows at the last couple of events (without any notice or follow-up apology afterward), it's now time for me to instill a new policy for the group (this does not include those folks who were moved over last minute by the waiting list function). Not showing up for event you RSVP'd for is not fair to those folks who wanted to go but couldn't because the event was full. It is also not fair to the restaurant who plans staffwise and spacewise for our reserved # of peole. And, it's not fair to me who pays for this group every quarter without charging you all back.

So, from now on forward, anyone who fails to attend an event they RSVP'd for without prior notice or at the very least a follow-up note to me after the fact stating that their plans changed last minute, will be removed from the group after their second offense. Meet up now tracks this info for me.

Sorry, but other groups do this, and I think it's time for me to start.

Anyway, looking forward to the next event! As always, I take suggestions...I've already gotten a few from members.

Patty
