Italian Food & Card Games - Baltimore/DC

We're trying a new place not to far away, but still technically in Little Italy.  Piedigrotta Bakery also has Paninis and Pizza.  They don't have a liquor license, but no body drinks too much at our events anyway.

Come join us, try some of their cookies, cannoli, tiramisu, or gelato!

It was great to play Scopa and Briscola. Hope to see you again in February or so.

Half the RSVP crowd failed to show, which was sad, but there was a silver lining in that some people who hadn't RSVPed showed up too! Matt had wonderful stuffed shells; Joe had pizza. Lance and his beautiful family, curious about our group, arrived and had a huge sfogliatelle stuffed with fresh creme. We first played Briscola; Joe won two games and Matt won one; then we taught Lance, a quick learner how to play Scopa and he had some great beginner's luck.

Lance's toddler, didn't seem too interested in the cards and opted to go look at all the fresh baked cookies and desserts and gelato at Piedigrotta's. We will be coming back here and hope Famiglia di Lance will too!

Ok, I will review the Scopa rules and probably have a cheat sheet with me!

We often play scopa, but don't worry, there's no pressure--we can play whichever one you're prepared for.

    Hello,
Do you know which game you will playing - Briscola or Scopa?
I was looking them up online and feel I can only come with a basic knowledge of one or the other for my first time out.
    Susan.
