Before you start, keep the following in mind:
* It is both a sprint and a marathon.  12 weeks is an exceedingly short amount of time. Take advantage of this as much as possible.  Never again will you get 100% frank feedback from a lot of the folks you come in contact with.
* Be mentorable.  Take constructive advice. 
* Be prepared for mentor whiplash.  You will encounter it.  You will get conflicting advice.  Sometimes from the same person.  It is your job to sort out what is right and what is BS.
* Don't succumb to pressure to raise if your model doesn't need it.
* Finally, business plans are BS.  But don't think that means to not go through the analyses writing one would require.  Remember the Eisenhower quote: Plans are worthless, but planning is everything.
