- Data Confidence: Evaluating the Reliability of Your Qualitative Research
Some consumers of UX research (our stakeholders) may not be familiar with UX research methodologies or may be skeptical of our findings, especially of qualitative research that uses smaller sample sizes. Recently my team developed a multi-dimensional metric to help communicate to stakeholders how confident we are in the results of our research. The more confident we are in the data, the more assured stakeholders can be to make decisions based on the research. The Data Confidence Score is a subjective evaluation of a qualitative data set. We identified 6 dimensions of our research design process that influence how reliable we feel the data can be. How does it work? At the conclusion of each research project, two or more team members engage in an evaluation of the work to come up with a score that is included, along with details, in our researching findings report that we present to stakeholders. This presentation will describe this new metric and let everyone work through a simple example to see how it can be implemented on your own teams. - Integrating User Centered Design with Agile
Technological advancements and innovations in hardware, especially in the software space, are causing organizations to rethink their product/service design and development processes in order to move faster. - An Immersion Into Accessibility Testing
Accessibility has become a pronounced focus for the largest companies across retail and product services in recent decades, and for good reason. Failure to comply to ADA requirements has not only legal ramifications, but directly impacts the ability of millions of users to access the digital experiences that so many take for granted. In this talk, Troy will detail how to immerse accessibility testing into the already frenetic world of project planning, user experience deliverables and data analysis. Additionally, Troy will detail what tools user experience professionals can utilize to create experiences that support the needs of a substantial customer base with a wide variety of impairments, while adhering to specific Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1).
