The Interaction Designer/Information will play a key role in bridging the gap between visual, interaction and information design and be responsible for the information architecture and user interaction design for Travelport’s global products. The Interaction Designer is expected to have expert knowledge of usability best practices, a thorough understanding of web and application development processes and a proven track record of successful collaboration with development and product teams to deliver high quality user experiences to Travelport customers and end users. The role will work with internal product owners, business analysts and developers to develop IA diagrams, wireframes, mockups and prototypes of website & desktop application designs.
Position Requirements: Main Accountabilities: (Outline a list of the main accountabilities for the role)

• Gather and understand information about user needs from multiple sources (Stakeholder Interviews, Requirements Gathering and Functional / Non-Functional Specification)
• Translate business requirements into intuitive interface solutions from the perspective of an end-user advocate
• Develop an understanding of backend systems and capabilities
• Create complete Interactive Design Specifications - including site maps, user/process flows and wireframes for websites and desktop applications
• Develop click-through prototypes to demonstrate interactivity for internal stakeholders and usability test participants
• Participate in user research/usability testing (as needed or appropriate)

Knowledge, Skills, Experience, Training, Education:

• Minimum of three years practicing user experience design
• Bachelors degree in any field
• Excellent facilitation, white-boarding, presentation & team collaboration skills
• Strong working knowledge of information architecture and web/desktop application usability design
• Excellent written communication and presentation skills as well as demonstrable visual communication skills
• Must possess a solid working experience with appropriate design tools (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, Visio, Balsamiq)
• Experience with Web or desktop software and with leveraging rich clients in innovative ways
• Previous experience with content heavy applications or websites a plus
• Strong data visualization & visual design skills a plus
• Solid understanding of basic design skills (eg. typography, color, grids)
• Background or experience with ethnographic research a plus
