Details

We're super excited to return to BCG DV and our second in a series of Strategic Design themed events — thinking beyond interfaces and into the challenges of organisations and systems.

There couldn't be a field more complex, challenging and rewarding than healthcare. With more designers entering the fray, what have those with experience learned? We'll be finding out and exploring this topic.

This event has been curated by Nuzi Barkatally, an experienced IxDA Local Leader for the LA chapter. Nuzi recently moved to London to explore the challenges in healthcare herself at the RCA.

SPEAKERS:

MATT EDGAR
Head of Design, NHS Digital

As head of design for NHS Digital, Matt’s focus is on digital services for NHS patients, carers and the public, while developing designers and the design profession across the whole organisation. Before that, as a consultant and co-founder of Stick People, he developed the GDS Service Manager Programme, and coached in the DWP Digital Academy.
In 2016, Matt was part of the global organising team for the annual design thinking and rapid prototyping event, the Global GovJam.

PIP BATEY
Design Strategist, The Helix Centre

Pip is currently working as a Design Strategist on a variety of human-centred design projects across the Institute of Global Health Innovation and NHS partners. Prior to Helix, she trained as a UX/UI Designer at a digital product design agency, specialising in VOD platforms, then went onto work for several digital healthcare startups, ranging from elderly care to surgical recovery. Pip has also recently completed an MRes in Healthcare & Design at RCA, where she focused her research on using creativity to reduce anxiety in children undergoing surgery while they wait.

As always, your ticket will be refunded (excluding booking fee) if you register your attendance at the start and end of the event.
