Real Estate Investors of Florida - Jacksonville is a Real Estate Investors Association. In looking to add the Cashflow game to our group's schedule when we found this one. With the help of the original organizers, we are taking on the group and will be scheduling a game night each month. We will be announcing the regular schedule soon so we can all get back to gaming!
The purpose of this group is to have fun, acquire or reinforce knowledge, meet new people, make new friends, network with each other, and show others how knowledge of Financial Literacy and Income Asset Investing can help change their lives in the real world.
CA$HFLOW 101 is an educational board game that was created by the author of "Rich Dad, Poor Dad", Robert Kiyosaki. An on-line version (currently in beta) is free-to-play. It is sometimes referred to as “Monopoly on Steroids”. It is a simplified "gamification" of real-life financial strategies and situations.
You start the game as an employee of someone else - in the "rat race" of earning wages by trading hours of your life in exchange for dollars. (Read: you're working for your money.) Your goal is to retire-in-style by either acquiring you're life's dream... Or growing your personal income to such high levels that you can retire in any way that you wish. (Read: your money is working for you.)
You do so by buying, selling, and retaining income-generating Assets - namely, Real Estate and Businesses. Once you have enough income-generating Assets, such that their income pays for your monthly living expenses... You're able to exit the "Rat Rate" (retire from your day job), and enter the "Fast Track" (become a full-time Asset Investor)... Where the *serious* wealth-building begins, and you're well on your way to making your material dreams a reality.
To those new to the concept of Income Asset Investing... You will learn valuable lessons and gain priceless insights into personal finance and investing, using fake money. Veterans of the game often like to play on a regular basis to reinforce relevant success mindsets whilst preparing for their real-world financial future. This game teaches and reinforces the basic principles of bookkeeping, accounting, finance, and investing whilst having fun!
Learn the differences between an asset and a liability, the secrets of the rich, and get on the financial fast track. Learn how to make your money work for you, not the other way around. Although the game is a simplified version of reality... You'll find it an excellent learning/ reinforcement tool. It's certainly more educational than Monopoly.
Although those with cell phones and/or portable computers may (or may not) find their gameplay a bit less laborious... All required "tools" will be provided by the host, including calculators (for those without smartphones), laminated copies of paper financial statements, dry-erase markers, and napkins (for use as dry erasers).
