History relates that the night before his assassination, Julius Caesar attended a feast. With him were Brutus, Cassius, and Mark Antony. During the meal, a question was posed – “What is the best way to die?” Caesar answered, 'What does it matter, so long as it's quick?' Based on history and the works of Shakespeare, Eve Of Ides imagines the intimate details of Brutus and Caesar’s relationship and explains the source of the ultimate betrayal between these friends and comrades. History was never so alive.

They bring the music I compose and gather to life and make every performance memorable!
In our travels around the US, Europe and Australia*, we have played many nights of thrilling music, made a lot of friends, shared delicious food and drink, and have seen some breathtaking sights. We have also had the opportunity to expose thousands of students to improvisational music with our innovative educational workshops. We love interacting with the students and are looking forward to playing our MWQ plus big band charts more in the future.(they rock, the kids’ll love ‘em!)
The Matt Wilson Quartet is dedicated to bringing the music to the people. We perform music that is not afraid to challenge AND entertain. We have fun and so will you!

Solomia Soroka and Arthur Greene:
A Benefit for Victims of the EuroMaidan Conflict
Wine, Women and Song XI
  • Solomia Soroka, violin
  • Arthur Greene, piano
Event Details
The Euromaidan is a wave of ongoing demonstrations and civil unrest in Ukraine, which began on the night of 21 November 2013 with public protests demanding closer European integration. The scope of the protests has since evolved, with many calls for the resignation of President Viktor Yanukovych and his government.  Many protesters joined because of the violent dispersal of protesters on 30 November and "a will to change life in Ukraine". By 25 January 2014, the protests had been fueled by the perception of widespread government corruption, abuse of power, and violation of human rights in Ukraine.
This concert will raise money to send to help the victims of this conflict and will feature Ukrainian music. The artists are in the process of preparing two CDs of wonderful unknown music by the Ukrainian national composer Mykola Lysenko[masked]) for Toccata Records in London, and this program exhibits the varied styles of the composer. Some of his music is ethnic in sound, while other works are in the tradition of Chopin, with a distinctive personal touch. In addition, Ms. Soroka and Mr. Greene will perform a few short selections of contemporary Ukrainian composers.
Additional donations will be gratefully accepted at the door.
This concert is generously sponsored by The Weiser Center for Emerging Democracies.
$25 general admission
