Moyers Moment (1988): Joseph Campbell on the Importance of Mythology, June 21, 1988 by
What can mythology tell us about contemporary life? Much, says Joseph Campbell, who answers the question expertly and succinctly in this Moyers Moment from 1988′s Joseph Campbell and the Power of Myth.

In addition to our group site on, we are listed on the Joseph Campbell® Foundation web site, a non-profit organization, at Joining JCF as an associate is free and allows you access to further features. Likewise, our group is always free, but we do suggest a small donation to help cover costs, like operating this web site and our group donation to the Mythological RoundTable® Program, which is a self-sustaining part of the Foundation.

Please direct your tax-deductible gift to the JCF Mythological RoundTable® Circles if you would like to help us support the program! If you are interested, please go to:

as exemplified by the arts, spirituality and psychosocial philosophies.
We do this with respect for all peoples,
encouraging open discourse and life-long learning.

TRANSPORTATION: Although we encourage carpooling, leaders are not permitted to organize carpools. Any carpool arrangements are private agreements between the driver and the passengers. Riders are expected to reimburse drivers for the transportation expenses of the trip. We suggest $4 per each rider for each hour of driving (this can vary - ask your driver); plus, a share of any bridge tolls or parking fee incurred on the trip.
