About Souls of the City
In October 2013, the Historic Old Sacramento Foundation will once again partner with Sol Collective to provide a month of programs and activities in celebration of Dia de los Muertos. The event will culminate with a community celebration in Old Sacramento on November 1, 2013.

Pop Up Art Labs
Join us every Saturday in October from 11:00AM to 2:00PM in the Stanford Gallery at 111 I Street for a series of pop up art labs! These craft workshops are free to the public, but please arrive early, as space and supplies are limited.

October 5: Papel Picado
Learn how to make traditional Mexican paper flowers and festive paper-cut banners.

October 12: Decorate Calaveras (Skulls)
Decorate colorful sugar, paper, and pinata Calaveras (one per participant).

October 19: Mini Altars
Create your own traditional Day of the Dead altar replica. Suggested items to bring: photos of loved ones, images or small replicas of items they enjoyed while living, small (shoe) box.
