FYI: "Prosperity Not Austerity. Economic Justice and Federal Policy"

Oct 30

"Prosperity Not Austerity. Economic Justice and Federal Policy" - October 30
Franciscan Pathways of Justice invites you to a very special event!

Sister Simone Campbell, SSS, of Nuns on the Bus, will be here on Wednesday, October 30th, to offer a presentation that we hope you will not miss. Her topic is: "Prosperity Not Austerity. Economic Justice and Federal Policy". Her presentation will be in the church, and will begin at 7pm. A free will offering will be accepted to benefit the NETWORK organization and its mission. There will be an informal reception in Brunsman Hall following her presentation

Sr Simone is Executive Director of NETWORK, a National Catholic Social Justice Lobby. Before coming to NETWORK, she was the Executive Director of JERICHO, the California inter-faith policy organization that works to protect the interests of the poor and disenfranchised.

On her most recent "Nuns on the Bus" tour, which concluded in June, the "Bus" visited 19 states in which she conducted presentations to community groups and organization, as well as held meetings at various legislative offices.

Our Catholic faith teaches us that people were created in the image of God, that each person has an inherent and unalienable dignity. We must continue to address poverty and the pursuit of creating and economy that provides the conditions for each person to live a decent life. Please come on October 30th to hear Sr. Simone address this most pressing issue.
