Photo & Nature Hike at Kadoorie Farm & Botanical Garden

Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden (KFBG) spreads over 148 hectares of land and is located on the northern slopes and foothills of Hong Kong's highest mountain - Tai Mo Shan. Its deep-set valley has streams, woodlands and vegetable terraces - together with conservation and education facilities.

It's recommended to visit this place during the Fall.

We're going there for photography and a nature hike. It's a whole day trip so prepare some water and walking shoes. They have a cafe there where we'll have lunch. Vegetarians will have to bring their own food.

Jorg Zobel has suggested bringing some of your super zoom lenses, tripods for capturing birds. So bring a super-steady tripod and a good long zoom with extender if you want to capture birds in the trees. I'm gonna bring mine!

Entrance fee is HK$20. They have a barbecue which costs HK$80. Hope to try it.

Wake up early! Bus ride from the stations is about 1 hour 15 minutes.

Please note that Kadoorie Farm does not sell chicken.

    Hi Attendees,

It will be a long trip if everyone has to all meet at Tai Wo Station. Therefore, Raji Tejnani will be at Exit A, Tai Wo MTR Station at 10.30am. to meet those taking the East Rail Line.

Raji will lead everyone to the Bus Terminal next to the MTR Station at 10.45am. If you're late, locate the bus terminal and take the 64K bus to Kadoorie Farm.

Those on the western part can meet at me, Ron, at the Exit C, Kam Sheung Road MTR Station on the West Rail Line at 10.30am. I will lead everyone from MTR Station to the Bus Terminal at 10.45am. If you're late, locate the bus terminal and take the 64K bus to Kadoorie Farm.

    My phone contact is :[masked]

Jorg Zobel has suggested shooting birds there. Look at the pictures above as I have added the equipment for bird shooting. If you want, bring 'em. If not, you can shoot other stuff with your regular camera equipment. I'll bring mine!
