  • We'll meet at Victoria Park at the big fountain. Take MTR to Causeway Bay, Exit E. That will get you to Sogo. Walk eastwards, away from Sogo towards Victoria Park and you'll see the fountain and thousands of people there.
  • All members attending Lightenup & Shoot on September 25th 2011,

    We've decided to postpone this event to a later date as it happens to be an inconvenient time for most of the members. We will keep everyone posted for the next Lightenup & Shoot Event next month.

    So sorry to everyone who's so keen to make this event. I was looking forward to it so much!

    I just curious why we don't go on the event for 3 - 4 members? Let me organize some events with limit to 4 members, so members get used to it. I may do it on water drops and Jelly fish shooting.

    It seems others have joined and canceled. I can postpone. Of course, I will have to disappoint Homer and Jason Fung for this Event. I'll email them to tell them of the postponement. I will fix another date in late October or November as there are other events going on. I can only pick Sundays as the domestic workers have their off-days only on Sundays. I also have my own work and things to do. I'll ask Homer and Jason and wait for their reply.

    @Katherine, @Homer. I've got some extra lighting gear that I just bought. I went shopping with Katherine and Jenny yesterday. We'll be sharing my softbox and flash. I'll bring 2 triggers with the same settings so any 2 people can shoot off the same flash unit. So you just need to bring your DSLR.

    @Ron, for me. I don't really care how many participants on the event coz I am shooting for my own purpose, not just for fun or doing a show. If only 3 members, I still go for it. It doesn't really influence my decision except the event is related to my work reporting to the institute.

    I think it's OK to postpone to October 9th 2011. I try not to disappoint those that are keen to go. But under the circumstances, it looks like an inconvenient time for the other members to attend. I can change the venue to Victoria Park if they're not keen on the challenge of going to Central. Maybe I'll go to Central myself on some other day cos I want to learn new stuff.

    We're down to 4 people on this event. We may have to postpone if another 2 persons decide to drop out. Sorry, guys. But this event is an opportunity to learn how to set up an outdoor studio with portable lights and softboxes. Anyway, it's still a week away. Again, if you don't have all the extra equipment, you can use my sync triggers. I've bought a couple more yesterday so we can mount it on your DSLR. All you'll need to bring is your camera.

    Ronnie and K, I would like to go back for LightenUpandShoot in Victoria Park later. My previous experience, instead they are interesting subjects, they are also good to be explored their culture. I did see so many of them with very unique styling, may be followed their local movie stars...with gold hair, lots of ear rings, pair of girls together...they are different to Filipino, may be the language problem, they don't read English Magazine, so they follow their own idols..I don't know...

    Ron, I don't have all the equipment with me but would like to purchase some. All I have is a Canon Speedlite with my camera 50D. Would you be going to Sham Sui Po sometime as I have no idea where to get those gear. Believe I need 2 softboxes, light stand and a trigger.
