Overwhelmed with the vast amount of JS frameworks available? Worried you will choose the wrong one? Wondering if you should update an older project to a new framework? Then this is the talk for you!
My name is David Yurek. I am a Development Operations Engineer at CBS Interactive here in Louisville KY. What I tell people who ask me what that means is that I "keep websites running." Although that doesn't really even scratch the surface. It is quite a fluid job. My team spearheads the use of monitoring, standards and best practices to ensure that we can deliver software reliably and effectively... as well as keep websites running with the same gusto.
My career path was unconventional. I actually have a Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology. It wasn't until I was recovering, couch bound, from a major surgery after dropping out of grad school that I started to teach myself Ruby. Long story short; internship, internship, some more college, big boy job, project lead, lots of Docker, new job, move to Louisville, start at CBS and here we are.
Aside from that I love board games and woodworking. With those powers combined I built my dining room table which houses a felt surface for board games! If there is anything else you would like to know, please feel free to catch me after my talk.
