Jacksonville UKES Ring, Play and Sing with the Salvation Army

  • Winn Dixie

1545 CR220, Fleming Island, FL (map)

  • Let's play our ukes as we ring and sing for the Salvation Army!

We have been scheduled for a slot from 10-2, so come for the entire slot or drop in as you like!

Here's a link to some holiday songs (courtesy of the Tampa Bay group) so that you can print those to bring and to practice beforehand, but please feel free to bring other music to share (just be sure to bring enough for the # of folks who rsvp!).  There are also some songs in the back of The Daily Ukulele, so bring your copy of that along too!  Another option would be to add links below to songs you have found on the internet (and in that case we will each be responsible to print them for ourselves!).

I have been wanting to do this for SO long, so I'm really excited that it is finally happening this year!

    xo

Just wanted to mention that if you have any music stands, you will want to bring those too! Hopefully between us we will have enough to share!

I spoke to the folks at Paddy's Pizza about putting up with us. They are on our regular lunch list. They are a full service restaurant with a lot of room, but they are never crowded. Their pizza is great, and I suspect their take out business keeps them in business. They are located on San Jose just south of Old St. Augustine Rd., on the west side of the street in the plaza behind Krystal burgers.

They'd be glad to have us. I recommend that we give 'em a try in January.

    Your thoughts?

Actually, Mark Baker and his wife will be in town in January, so we'll be hosting his workshop for our usual meet-up date that month. But this place sounds interesting for future meet-ups!

I'll give it a tentative 'yes' . I think I'd prefer the 17th as well.
