What we're about

JRCC was formed in 1945 and is one of the oldest, continuing photography clubs in Virginia. Our mission is to offer programs and activities of interest to the beginning photographer as well as the professional. We have a number of professionals in our membership who contribute exceptional programs frequently for our membership and guests. We aspire to advance the art and craft of photography aesthetically and technically for all who wish to participate.
Note:  Any photograph submitted to the club and / or posted by member, the JRCC retains the right to exhibit these photos only for the purpose these were submitted.

If you want to Join James River Camera Club just show up at any meetup posted and you can meet folks and decide if you would like it. We try to meet in person each month. Of course the Pandemic messed us up a bit and we did and still do some as ZOOM meetups.

Macro and close up Photography with Mike Moats. A Zoom meeting

Link visible for attendees

I have lined up Mike Moats as our speaker for Jan 5th 2023. This will be a zoom meeting as Mike lives in Michigan. I saw his program a couple months ago with another camera club and it was great. PLEASE try to make this meeting. I would like to have a nice turnout so mark your calendars for this presentation. Below is a little about Mike.

Mike Moats is an international award-winning, professional macro photographer from Sterling Heights, Michigan. Mike's love of photography, which started out as a hobby in 2001, has since evolved into a full-time business. In addition to creating his own images, Mike added "Close-up/Macro Photography" workshops into the mix in 2006, and he now also makes speaking appearances at photo conferences nationwide, leads intensive Macro Boot Camps around the country, and now has an online Macro Photo Club to assist photographers with their macro goals.
