The Joys and Challenges of a Mission Driven Startup

This is our 23rd event, and we're thrilled to introduce Eiko Nakazawa of Dearest (https://www.dearest.io), Inc. Eiko will share us her journey of creating Dearest, an online platform that connects families with educational childcare providers.

This is a fantastic opportunity for cross-cultural learning with entrepreneurs in our greater community. We'd like to invite new founders, established startup leaders, and people thinking of starting their own company here in NYC to join us to share wisdom and information across borders. Join us and hang out afterward at a bar nearby!

We know how critical early years are. That’s why we hand-select top-tier teachers and passionate educators to provide childcare combined with fun individualized activities that teach young children fundamentals in STEM, literacy, creative arts and languages. Dearest also documents and tracks the little one’s development, so parents never miss out on childhood’s most important milestones. Learn more at: www.dearest.io (http://www.dearest.io/)

About Eiko:

Eiko is the founder of Dearest, a marketplace that combines early childhood enrichment with childcare. She founded the company out of Columbia University's startup lab, to solve the quality issue of childcare -a critical problem that she faced when she had her own child as a working mom. Eiko has experience leading business launch and global marketing projects at Sony Corporation, and has worked in 5 countries with her last position being in NYC. She also has experience teaching in early childhood classrooms, and delivering STEM programs to children in India and Japan through UNESCO and Sony's joint initiative.
