Open Seattle Japanese Language and Culture Meetup

In spite of the name, Savatdee serves a lot of Laotian dishes along with a conventional Thai menu. I've never been there before, but I'm a sucker for avoiding Irish bars on St. Patrick's Day, so I say we go as far away as we can.

We'll order food to share. I expect food to run roughly $18-22/person, give or take a little, plus whatever you choose to drink.

If you have culinary restrictions, allergies, etc., please make a note in your RSVP. I'll order some meat, seafood and vegetarian dishes, but if you're a stricter vegetarian than I am, let me know, as some of the dishes have shrimp paste or fish sauce in them.

I think there may be a few spots for on-site parking, but street parking is quite manageable around here if not. Bus access using nearly any of the routes bound for U-District (71, 72, 73, 66, 67) should be painless.

Please bring plenty of cash. Cash makes everything better, especially when trying to settle a bill for 20 people at the end of the evening with a sleepy 2 year old and infant in tow.

Please keep your RSVP up-to-date. No-shows create lots of problems for your organizer, especially when we pre-order food, so if your plans change, please update your plans on the Meetup site.

Nijikai might be at Lucid, a no-cover jazz bar, or one of the other joints nearby, like the Monkey Pub. If all else fails, there's Dante's, but hopefully better judgment will prevail.
