Open Seattle Japanese Language and Culture Meetup

Even though my day job is in the international district, Chiang's is my favorite Chinese restaurant in the city.

We'll order an assortment of very good vegetarian dishes, seafood and animal bits. The signature dishes include stuffed yuba, Szechuan crab, and a fiery chicken dish served on a bed of Japanese togarashi. We usually get some leek dumplings,  Shepherd's Purse & Tofu Soup, and a half dozen or so other dishes. If you have any specific dietary constraints, feel free to make a note in your RSVP so I can try to accommodate.

Expect the price to be pretty close to $20/person for food, give or take a few dollars, and to leave pretty darn full. As usual, we'll handle drinks separately.

Please bring plenty of cash to make settling the bill easier.

With bus routes 72 and 73, public transportation is easy and quick, but runs only every half hour or so. It's a short walk with routes 66, 67 and 68. Parking is available on-site, but occasionally fills up. Street parking is usually available without much fuss just behind the restaurant.

Nijikai will probably be at Cooper's Alehouse, which is cheap and huge.

Pre-kai, if you want to join me, will probably be at Hudson, unless someone has a better recommendation. I'll probably be there starting about 6pm, and I'll walk over to the main venue about 7.
