We're back at an "old favorite" at the edge of Capitol Hill and the Central District, Piecora's.
I'm going to attend an event at Town Hall just before the event so that I can see Steve Keen, the unorthodox economist who wrote the book Debunking Economics, talk about whatever he's planning to talk about. That finishes up at 7:30, assuming it runs on schedule; I'll probably skip the thing about dinosaurs afterward, so I expect to arrive about 15 minutes late. Anyway, as a result of my hyper-ambitious plans, I'd appreciate someone who is up for showing a bit early to make sure tables are ready and the first round or two of beer gets ordered. Send me a private message if you can be that person.
We'll be pre-ordering food based on the RSVP count, so please keep your plans up to date, otherwise you'll be making the bill higher for others who are more committed. We may add things as needed, but we need to give the restaurant a rough idea about a day ahead of time. We'll order a good mix of vegetarian things and meaty things, but if your dietary requirements are more specific than that, please make a note in your RSVP.
Please bring plenty of cash. I want a clean fight, no dirty left jabs from the credit card machine or from the cranky toddler who's waiting for your card to be processed. Just good old-fashioned cash-based bill settling, no funny stuff.
Bus access is super easy, as everything goes right near here, as long as everything includes bus routes 2, 10, 11, or 12. Also, there's a private lot at the restaurant, which is shockingly rare for a Capitol Hill venue. If you're planning to attend Nijikai, though, it would be smart to consider street parking so that you don't have to repark afterward.
Nijikai may be at Von Trapp's, a German beer hall slash bocce ball place, or the Elysian, or maybe Canon if we only have a smallish group.
