Scaling in Microservices Environment in JavaScript: Intro
(Karin Angel)

An introduction lecture to the scaling problem in microservices environment in JavaScript. I will talk a little bit about microservices environment, the scaling problem (horizontal vs vertical) and explain in a nutshell why Node.js is basically made for scaling (JavaScript being single process).

Karin Angel, Software Engineer with 5 years experience with Node.js. Currently Backend Developer at autofleet.

Scaling Node to Millions of Viewers
(Ran Gliksberg)

At eko we use JavaScript for practically everything: from real-time rendering of video and image manipulation on the client, through based video encoding in the cloud to delivering video to millions of viewers per month. This intricate process involves many systems and technologies. In this talk I’ll present our journey of scaling the eko infrastructure. Going from multi git repos which map to horizontally autoscaled servers to vertically scaled microservices based on monorepos using node.js, Kafka, Lerna, Docker, Kubernetes and more.

Ran Gliksberg, Fullstack developer at eko. Working in startups for almost 10 years.

Taking Node.js to The Ex-Stream: Stream to Scale
(Gadi Raymond)

In the past our lives were simple. Big data chunks were lists of thousands of entities.
Today data is more complex and in much bigger quantities.
The solution that worked for small data just doesn’t scale.
Suddenly your beautiful microservice starts having memory and availability issues.
It might seem that JS may not be your ideal solution. or is it?
In this talk, I’ll show you how microservice can break with big data.
More importantly, I’ll show you how you can work on big data with Node.js Streams while keeping your dream JS job.

Infinite Scale Your Micro-services with Node.js and Google's Cloud Run
(Alon Valadji)

Let's create our Node.JS micro-services App with best practice approach, but we also want it to scale with minimum effort. So we'll see how to dockerize our micro-services and deploy them to cloud run to gain infinity scale with no infrastructure maintenance from our side..
