Please join us for our Silent Sitting and Sound Meditation every Tuesday evening. Known as Shamata or Silent Sitting meditation practice, this session is open to all who would like to participate. For beginners a short instruction will be given at the beginning of the practice.
We have plenty of cushions and chairs, though feel free to bring your own. We start with a short opening prayer then two sessions of meditation. If this is your first visit you may want to arrive a few minutes earlier to acquaint yourself with the center. We ask that you remove shoes before entering the shrine room.
Our instructors at Karma Thegsum Chöling Jacksonville have received approval to teach the Buddhist method of meditation from the Venerable Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche, Abbot of Karma Triyana Dharmachakra Monastery (http://www.kagyu.org/).
Most attendees don't find us through the meetup, so even if nobody else RSVPs here you won't be the only one at the session.
