This is a fun and very kick back group. A Jeep is NOT required. Most SUVs and trucks will do. If you're not into sway bar disconnects and airing down that's cool. If you are, we do that too. Our group is not just about "doing a run" we injoy friendly trips and meeting other members. Our backcountry trips are geared for small groups, this allows us even more trail options. We even do some meandering along the way. Members have everything from stock Jeeps to the wicked. Most runs include the option of really good challengs, for from beginners to advanced. All runs are stock friendly, although some require more experience. If you love hitting the dirt come join. Day runs, cookouts & campouts! Dogs welcome too!
Nelson ghost town is about an hour south of Las Vegas and is Rich with history. We'll be stopping there to check out the mining museum and to explore on foot. There are thousands of artifacts and vintage peices inside and out! From there we'll take a short trail to Eagle Wash and Nelson's Landing (where they do cliff jumping). Here we will stop for lunch and more exploring. We will then return to Nelson for our 2pm Mine tour. Tour is approximately 1hr 20 minutes and costs $15 per person. Family owned and operated, Bobby and her husband are extremely knowledgeable and very friendly.
We will meet at the entrance to Hidden Falls Park in Henderson. Make sure you are gassed up, bring a lunch, chairs and a jacket. We will return to Vegas by 5pm.
I need RSVPs no later than the 13th, as I have to make reservations and give Bobbie a head count.
This is our monthly get together for pizza and beer. Pizza is sponsored by your host, Heather. Great time to meet new members, share ideas, plan runs and make new friends. We will have some fun new (FREE) raffles and be voting on the final design for the club logo. Shirts will be printed in Nov. Free tee shirt to all members that have completed a least 3 runs!
The group will plan on meeting the last Tuesday of each month. Location may vary, depending on the groups input.
I look forward to seeing everyone there.
We'll meet at the visitors center to explore the trails at the springs and the huge center with book shop and maps!
The Desert National Wildlife Range is a nature preserve and includes 1.5 million acers of the Mojave desert. The largest refuge in the lower 48.
Elevations from 2,500 to 10,000.
We'll be taking Morman Well Rd heading east through the mountain range. Stopping at Desert campground for lunch. Trail ends at 93 for return to Vegas. This is a great over landing trail, rated a 2 due to changing trail conditions. Airing down is good idea for a smoother ride. Lunch, jacket and chairs.https://www.desertusa.com/wild/du_corncreek.html

We'll be going into Lovell Canyon to one of the many primitive camp sites. We will not cancel due to winter weather. That's part of the adventure. Some of us will be sleeping in our Jeeps. Bring food, water wood and camp gear. Sunday we'll be doing a run up through Lovell Summit trail ending back on 160.
Dress in layers and yes there may be mud, snow and water crossings. Yes we have recovery equipment and new radios.
