ITS MAGIC MILE TIME!!!
We will be meeting next to the track at the restrooms/picnic table! Park in the large parking lot behind the school off of Turner Road.
I'll have your previous Magic Mile times w/ me so that you can figure out what time you have to beat! We will be covering 4-6 miles total between the warm up, mile timed runs, and cool down.
You'll run down Turner Road for a 1-1.5 mile warm up. After that, you'll run some quick acceleration drills on the track and, once you're ready, run your magic mile! As you recover/cool down from your magic mile, i'll use your magic mile time to calculate your 5K, 10K, half marathon or full marathon goal pace and corresponding run/walk ratio.
We'll then do another one timed mile run on the track, this time at either your 5K, 10K, half or full marathon goal pace using the corresponding walk/run ratio (you'll choose which race pace you want to do). I'll call out the times at each lap for you and let you know if you are on pace or not, but you'll still have to be mindful of your own running pace and walk/run times and see how it feels to run at your goal pace using the walk/run ratio!
Those that want to continue, can go right into your second mile at your goal pace and corresponding walk/run ratio. I'll track your time as best as i can! After that, cool down and you're done!!! As always, breakfast afterwards!!
