What we're about

Hi there and welcome to this Yoga Community based at the beautiful location of Heart in Twickenham, every Thursday morning between- 10:00-11:00am.
This class is a movement based yoga class, using tradition yoga techniques in a modern and accessible way.
With a long background in Bikram, Iyengar and Ashtanga yoga these classes use detailed alinements and sequencing to bring strength and flexibility to the body and mind.
with over 10 years experience in yoga, and having trained with some leading teachers in their fields, these classes are professional and passionate. It is my sincere belief that the benefits of yoga are available to everyone. With this is mind these classes are open to beginners and experience practitioners. Yoga is a deeply personal experience yet is a universal process of rejuvenation and transformation. This is why yoga has been around for thousands of years. Using breath and postures these Hatha yoga classes help to increase awareness and understanding of the self, through the self, by the self.

Each week we focus on a different theme like: Harmony, Play, Happy Hips and Heart openers to bring a full body and mind understanding to the practice and sustain a fresh, fun and dynamic practice.
All mats, blocks, straps and blankets provided. First class only £5 and class packs available also to help encourage a regular yoga practice and community ethic. Also a drop in rate of £10 is also available. Looking forward to seeing you on the mat.

Wether you are new to yoga or have been practicing a long time, these classes are open to everyone. Mats and equipment provided just come with comfortable clothing and well hydrated. As with all yoga please do not eat anything too heavy for two hours before class as yoga works deeply into the digestive system and our internal organs so is best practiced on an empty stomach. These yoga classes slowly build up intensity to bring positive changes to the body and mind. Focusing on alignment and breath, this class incorporates the oldest traditions of yoga: Unity and Awareness. Concentrating on these elements enhances stability, strengthening and transformation both on the mat and into our daily lives. Unity: In Sanskrit yoga means, ‘to join’. Unity of the body, mind and breath allows us to understand and accept ourselves deeper. Awareness: The art of mindfulness. Through seeing our connection to ourselves, others and outside elements, yoga allows us to develop through personal growth. The unity of the practice also encompasses our relationships with each other. Through healing ourselves we also bring light and love to the reality around us. Yoga is also a wonderful way of bringing together a community as it truly is a practice for everyone. It’s just about finding your yoga tribe. You are never too young, old, unhealthy or healthy to feel the life changing improvements of this ancient art. With a background in Transcendental Meditation and Bikram/Vinyasa Yoga, my style of teaching focuses on healing. Working the body and using alignment of it in postures to bring strength, flexibility and influence the mind into a more joyous state of being. Having a yoga practice which has spanned my whole life, I have studied this Art in England, India and Nepal with some of incredible teachers, Esak Garcia, Mary Jarvis, Sri Chinmoy and Stewart Gilchrist to name but a few. First class only £5.
