What we're about

Hello casual board gamers, board game enthusiasts, or anyone else who wonders why these people are so into board games. This is a group that allows people to get together to play board games, have fun, and make new friends. Whether you've never played a board game before and would love to learn something new, or consider yourself a hobbyist, there's a game for you.

We want to ensure a family friendly environment that allows for everyone to be comfortable. All meetups are alcohol, tobacco, and drug-free. We ask that everyone shows mutual respect to all and is kind and courteous to all. Feel free to bring personal games from home, but we ask that any games which contain explicit or adult-themed content (Cards Against Humanity, etc.) please not be brought into a setting where it can be seen as offensive.

Frequently Asked Questions

- I'm new, when and where does the group meet?

We meet weekly at 1111 Baxter St. Johnson City, TN on Saturday nights from 6pm to 11pm. You will find a table full of board games that the host and other attendees have brought, and another with refreshments (feel free to bring your own food or drinks, we just ask to help prevent spills for drinks to have a lid if at all possible). You can play any game that's out, and add your own to the pile if you brought some. Don't hesitate to invite anyone who looks lost or hesitant to join in your game!

- What board games will be there?

You can expect modern board games that range from party games, light causal games, and heavy euro-games. If you're thinking "But I hate Monopoly, Sorry, and Trouble," then have no fear, board games have changed and evolved exponentially since those days and there is a game for everyone that you'll have fun with and enjoy, but if those classics are your jam then bring a copy. Below is a list of our current board game library. If you see a game that you're not familiar with, there is an overwhelming amount of online resources, such as YouTube, that you can look up a game, see if it's something you'd like to play, and even watch tutorial videos on how to play before you come. If not, there are people that would love to teach you a new game in person.
