'Capturing hard-to-measure impact'
At this meeting, Vicky Jones from the Cabot Institute for the Environment at the University of Bristol will talk about her experiences with a particularly 'hard-to-capture impact' challenge: capturing the impact of academic research with the Research Excellence Framework: How to demonstrate impact of specific pieces of work? Where to look? How long to wait? She’ll share her tips, successes, challenges and failures. We’ll talk about the many similarities, and some differences, from capturing hard-to-measure impact in international development.

We would like 1-2 additional short contributions on this theme! - Please come prepared to share your story, challenge, problem, question, success or failure on capturing hard-to-measure impact! It would be great if you could let me know ([masked]) what you’re planning.

Group Facilitator

This new Working Group is open to all paid Members of SWIDN (or staff of SWIDN Member organisations) who are interested in, and/or working on any of the topics - Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning. This is pretty broad, covering everything from log frames and planning/reporting formats to hot issues like complexity and adaptive management. It should be interesting for NGO staff, as well as externals, e.g. external evaluators.

Please note that this is a bring your own (BYO) lunch event.

If you would like to speak at a future meeting of this SWIDN Working Group, or would like to become a SWIDN Member, please contact: [masked]
