The Sussex Border Path
The story so far...
Section 1 Take 2 – 14 miles
Here's another chance to come on this very rewarding hike if you missed it last summer or even to experience it again in a different season.
Please read the Three Golden Rules of Joined Up Hiking.
Are you OK with those? All right, then you may continue...
A large part of the first section is a circular walk around the peninsula of Thorney Island, so we will get our fill of coastal and estuary views before heading back inland around the outskirts of Emsworth, through Southleigh Forest and along the edge of Stansted Forest to the pub at Rowlands Castle with the railway station close by.
Philip is the host and walk leader for this event.
Please note that the meetup location is at the start of the hike itself at Emsworth station in Hampshire, so you must make your own arrangements to get there. If travelling by train from Waterloo or Clapham Junction you can try to arrange a group of 3 or 4 to get the discount fare by posting and replying to comments.

This is a fast-paced walk with a stop for lunch in a café.
There is a £1 charge payable to the event host on the day.
