This month we will be learning how to work with geographical data. We will be covering how to manipulate it in the terminal, how to merge it with other datasets, creating a reproducible workflow, and then building a mobile-ready interactive visualisation displaying the results. We'll be following a tutorial written especially for Journocoders, currently a work in progress.
Make sure to bring a laptop along. In typical Journocoders style this will be a practical, hands-on workshop. No programming experience required! However, if you do feel comfortable please install the latest version of Node (https://nodejs.org/en/) before you arrive.
Be sure to join the collaborative hackpad (https://journocoders.hackpad.com/Journocoders-Feburary-2017-6SCLtBK15jE) -- add links to anything data journalism-related you've seen or built yourself to the show & tell section!
