This afternoon is all about getting your hands dirty, so make sure you bring your own laptop/coding machine!
Welcome to the first edition of JuniorDev’s Hacktoberfest workshop! What will you do?! Get your Open Source on! You'll contribute Pull Requests to various Open Source projects, and light up your Github profile contribution graph! Boom!
What is Hacktoberfest?
Hacktoberfest (https://hacktoberfest.digitalocean.com) is a month-long celebration of open source software run by DigitalOcean, DEV.to & GitHub.
If you open five Pull Requests in public GitHub repos between October 1 and October 31, you’ll win a free, limited edition Hacktoberfest T-shirt and some swag!
There will be plenty of mentors available to help you craft the ultimate Pull Request, or help get you started if you’ve never contributed before. Git mastery not required.
Want to be a mentor? Please let @ljkenward know via Twitter / Linkedin / Slack
We’ll have a range of different projects that we think are good candidates for contributions and first-timers, so you can jump right in and get contributing!
Thank you to Microsoft and Mechanical Rock for sponsoring the event!
Please read our Events Code of Conduct http://do.co/hacktoberconduct before attending. Happy hacking!
