2nd and 3rd graders visiting chickens??

Hi all,

I am a fourth grade teacher in Carroll Gardens who is about to start an enrichment group about eggs. I did this last year as well, and it went really well except I wasn't able to take the kids to see actual chickens and where they live, which I thought would be great for them to get a solid understanding.

This year, my group will probably be quite small. Does anyone have any information on a place we could visit to see chickens, or perhaps even someone who could bring in chickens to visit?

Any information would be appreciated by me and the kids!

Hi CHristina - tends chickens in various gardens in the city and also brings chickens and does educational programs for kids. They really know their stuff. Good luck.
