Marion Ave. Rd., Mansfield, OH
TYPE: Woods Hike| PACE: Fitness -- 3-4 mph on hilly terrain | TERRAIN: Woods trail with hills, pretty clear of vegetation, plenty of trip hazards | DIFFICULTY: Moderate | DISTANCE: 5 miles | TIME: Approximately 2 hours
The Stoller Road Trail is on the north side of Clearfork Reservoir. The reservoir was created in 1949 to be the primary water supply for the city of Mansfield. My assumption is that Stoller Road existed prior to 1949 and ran through what became the lake. Sections of old roadbed are still evident on portions of the trail. There is a network of upper trails created by area off-road bicyclists -- and open to hikers -- that wind and loop, traversing a number of ravines. This hike will be primarily on the network of upper trails.
