Hi Everyone,

This is what i am basing my weather GUESS on:

THINGS LOOK **OK** not great but just OK ENOUGH FOR THIS EVENT... see ya there.

The ground will be wet to moist and rocks a bit damp, so be really careful crawling on them,
sadly there will be some wind from the west and up the river
good going in but the wind will be there on the return from the cove, but
we can modify the event as we go along anyway to adapt to the conditions.
wear some wrmer clothes till it gets sunnier.
There is a Pavilion at the Mohegan Village "only" if needed. else we head to more the private part and tree surrounds.
Bring a chair and hope the grass dries a bit..
grill and table things loaded ..
i have some firewood for the fire loaded.

Weather update:
Tides: SUNDAY MAY 12
12:16 pm HIGH @ 2.99 ft -- necessary to know for the bridge and cove (low is no good for the bridge or cove, high has not been verified by me yet, we will find out real soon.)
Low 6:18 pm @ 072 ft
I will be wearing a BRIGHT orange hunting hat in the parking area.
--> We will be visiting all of the 3 sites listed below for the first time and will assess if its a RETURN or forget it for next year. Based on my research it should be with a minimum overall 75% good rating to start with..
Please read the info on the 3 sites provided below in the links to see if this is something of interest to you.
1) Hike Spot: 11:00 am : Glacier Park
Info on the site:
GPS apx to get you close enough: 90 Whalehead RD, Gales Ferry.
Park in the lot under the powerlines or nearby where you can fit.
Sadly there is not much parking here but be creative and we can all fit in the general area.
I will have to park roadside so that will make it easier to find the place for you also. Orange cones to be set roadside too.
2) Paddle Spot: Poquetanuck Cove
Cove and Bridge tides:,%20Thames%20River,%20Connecticut
Paddle the -Poquetanuck Cove after the hike-----> REMEMBER:-- (We will use the Stoddarhd Hill Boat Ramp instead ) --
NOT the Drawbride Road Launch since there is not enough parking there for us
---> Our put in spot is STODDARD HILL BOAT RAMP:
(OR Just follow me from Glacier Park).
Info on Paddling in the Cove:
3) BBQ & Fire Spot: - The MOHEGAN'S Fort Shantok Village, Uncasville
POT LUCK FIRESIDE BBQ, more than likely we will be at a bit more of a private spot nearby down one of the roads in the area where we can have the fire and not draw too much attention to the group..
You wont miss us if you try the 2 or so roads away from the center point --->
apx GPS Address : 400 Massapeag RD, Uncasville CT
here is the general overall mapping info: (
The following Kayaks come with top rated paddles and life jackets transported to the put in site but must be specifically chosen and reserved in advance:
Boat use Doughnation is $20.00

Note: if you reserve a kayak and i take it all the way to the site and you do not show -- you will never join us again for any event.
These are my personal hobby boats and its asked you be sincere in showing up, besides i ask less than half of what a local shop charges and you get better equipment right at the event site's boat ramp.
Yes i will understand traffic may cause you to be late and if i hear of of any traffic via my GPS or by other arriving members, then we usually wait a bit longer than normal.
Please make sure you fit in the boats and have some paddling skills (check the info of the boats in the corresponding links provided with each boat).
