What we're about

If you dedicate your life to expression through music, art, theater, dance, writing, or any other creative medium, whether as a full-time professional, a side-gigger, or a creative who hasn't yet mustered the courage to share their work, you are invited to join KC Creatives.

Many creatives are drawn to their passion for expression as a means to be heard, to be seen, to be understood. Putting our work out in the world can be scary. Even after all our careful crafting, critics may miss the metaphors, judges may skip the point, audiences may misunderstand.

In this group we will be social, be seen, be heard, listen, and express ourselves easily without struggle in the safe hands of other creatives. It is a great place to bounce new ideas off others, try out a new tactic, or just be in the company of other creative folks.

Meetups encourage expression with relaxation for the body, sound improvisations for the spirit, mindful journal prompts, and soulful social interactions.

Workshops show ways to easily get into flow state with tips and techniques to add to your creative practice routine. Put on by Breath Mark LLC.

Retreats will provide a place to get away and breathe and furnish a low key stage for performance.

Are you more technical than emotional or more emotional than technical? Do you need to be more receptive to the intuitive approach or do more planning and thinking before you create? Some people naturally create from a technical point of view. They tend to make lists, do plenty of research, study, and diagram before creating. Others, when you ask them how or why they made something in a certain way, they will tell you it was all just how they felt. In this workshop we will be doing visual artistic projects to determine what your natural way of creating is and if you would be better off adjusting your approach. Finding your perfect place on this creative spectrum will tune you in to your authentic creative voice. Be ready for hands-on creative projects and discussion. Supplies will be provided.
