This event is just for members whom we've met and know well. The address goes out by word of mouth, so sorry, no newbies please. We are honored to have a very talented and lovely lady named Martha as member of the KCMG and as the super accommodating host of this jam.
She provides a very welcoming environment, amateurs included, where you'll meet a lot of cool people, (all genders). Some have more experience but all are very helpful. We sit in a big circle, sometimes upstairs & down, and play 3 to 4 chord simple songs from folk, blues, country, rock, etc. You will be asked to lead a song of your choosing, so have one READY that you've practiced!
All instruments are welcome. It's a great learning experience. Singers...this may or may not be for you. You may find it interesting and want to sing along or you might get board, having no instrument. With the International Folk Alliance relocating to KC, it's a happening scene! This type of jam comes down through the generations to us and beyond. It's very fun, rewarding and a great way to make new connections in your music network. I hope you'll join us here!
(This jam actually happens on every third Tuesday of the month but as a group, we will only visit here every few months, so we can rotate this with other types of venues to provide for a variety of interests. If you like, you can come every month, without the whole group of MG's.)
