Needs a location
Spend a day hiking on- and off-trail in the loess hills of the Bluffwoods Conservation Area southwest of St Joseph. RSVP here (preferably) or by emailing me at [masked].
Outings like this are one way our local Sierra Club group raises money to fund operations. A donation of $2 or $3 would be gratefully accepted.
They completed a "forest management" operation in late December so we'll get to see what the place looks like now. There is a vault toilet at the trail head. Bring lunch/snacks, all the water you'll need, and some extra clothing. The terrain is very hilly. This is not a beginner-level hike.
We'll meet in the vicinity of Zona Rosa and form a car pool for those interested in sharing a ride, or you can join our caravan to the trail head. We'll be out 5-6 hours and should get back to Z.R. in the 5-6 PM range.
During the sign-in process all participants on Sierra Club outings are required to sign a standard liability waiver. If you would like to read the Liability Waiver before you choose to participate in an outing, please go to: http://www.sierraclub.org/outings/chapter/forms/ .
