Basic Studio Introduction and Open House - FREE

With our numbers growing for our group, I thought we would host an evening at our studio for new members to come out and see the setup, get a tour and try out a basic set up.

You can either bring your SLR Camera or just come out and take a look at what our setup is like.

We will do a basic portfolio shot, hopefully have a model available, and learn some basics about studio lighting.

This session will be available to all our members and FREE.

Please register so we have an idea of numbers and set up for the evening.

This is your opportunity to get a first hand look at what we do in our Meetup groups that we offer. Numbers are limited but we would like to accommodate  all interested members.

Of course bring your DSLR with a standard mount hot shoe.  Some Sony / Minolta DSLR now come with a standard hot shoe, others have proprietary hot shoes, so you will need an adapter to accept a standard hot shoe trigger.  You'll also need to bring lots of fresh batteries, memory cards and ideas.

If you have a 24-70mm,[masked] or 50mm lens, I would bring those, along with whatever other lens you wanted to try out.

A non-commercial release is included, so the images you take are yours to use for you online portfolio or in print.  You may not sell or use any images in any commercial format or manner, without a commercial release, signed by the model

As always, your model is here to help you get better and help provide you with strong pieces for your portfolio.  So pleaseRESPECT THE MODEL at all times.  Failure to do so, will result in your removal from the event, no refunds and blacklisted from our group.

first time out to the Kitchener meetup group and it was a fun night with creative makeup and lots of props for the model to work with. It was a fre event so lots of people, but still managed to get a fair number of shots with the crowd of shooters

Great introduction to studio lighting. The model was very easy to work with and helpful. Thanks for the opportunity to try different lighting techniques and learn from such a diverse and seasoned experience pool!

Thanks for a great meet-up guys! I enjoyed it. Now I'm trying to think what kind of look would go with the face paint. :) Maybe something gritty looking? Hmm...
