Cloudera, Intel and Hadoop Security & Cisco IoT Living Lab Announcement

Larry Warnock, Senior VP of Cloudera and a senior executive of Intel TBA will discuss Hadoop security and the impact of the Cloudera/Intel partnership on the Big Data community.

Recently, Intel invested $740 million in Cloudera, the largest invested in a Big Data company made to date. What does the investment mean for Intel and how will it shape the future of Cloudera, the company leading the Apache Hadoop Big Data revolution?

Herb Sih from Think Big Partners will announce Cisco's Smart Cities Initiative with Kansas City MO.

Kansas City will become the world's largest Smart and Connected City while also launching an Internet of Things Living Lab in partnership Cisco, the City of Kansas City, Missouri and Think Big Partners.  Think Big Partners will provide an overview of the project, a more detailed understanding of the Living Lab, the implications for Kansas City (and other cities) and how people can participate in the open innovation model. Essential players will include technologists, data scientists, early stage emerging technology companies, a wide variety of entrepreneurs, established companies and cities across the country. This overview is designed to give you a better understanding to prepare for the opportunities to participate in Q42014 and beyond as the Living Lab comes on line.

Thanks Don for slides. Appreciate if anyone has an audio recording from their Smart Phone. The Big Data Meetup, Lambda Lounge, and 1 Billion Bits were all on the same night this month. Maybe one day we could combine them. :)

It's probably too late to ask. Will the slides <hope>or a recording</hope> be available for those of us who really wanted to attend but couldn't?

    Note to attendees.....
Park in the (underground) parking garage at the 333W 11th building
Take the elevators to the lobby
Then proceed (north) across the street to the 1055 Broadway building.
Check in with the guard in the lobby there
    Proceed to the 3rd floor
