What we're about

If you want be more involved in Kansas City and Missouri politics and public policy, we want to MeetUp with you!

Please check out our website for many more details http://www.lwvkc.org .

We are a nonpartisan political organization encouraging informed and active participation in government. We influence public policy through education and advocacy.

This is the local Kansas City, Missouri group for a nationwide organization that grew out of the Women's Suffrage movement of the 1920's.

The League of Women* Voters has two separate and distinct roles.

1) We Serve and Educate Voters. We present unbiased information about elections, the voting process, and issues (see our website Vote411.org). We also provide voter registration opportunities to the Kansas City community.

2) We Advocate for Good Public Policy. After researching issues, we advocate for positions that are in the public interest.

Our events include monthly meetings with government and public interest speakers. We teach our members how to register voters and sponsor voter registration drives. In 2020, we will be doing lots of things to celebrate 100 years of the right to vote for women. See our website for many more details http://www.lwvkc.org .

*Men, we also need (and want) your help to carry out our mission.*
