What we're about

'Karuna' means 'compassion' in the Sanskrit and Pali languages. KBMofLex is a group of people interested in exploring meditation and Tibetan Buddhism. Through working with the mind we can be present, develop mindfulness and awareness, and cultivate deep compassion for others as well as ourselves. We hold weekly open meditation sessions that are free of charge. We also offer book group meetings and are planning several other meditation and buddhist program offerings. Though our foundation is based on the Buddhadharma, our wish is to also provide programs and events open to anyone interested in the practice of meditation regardless of faith, religious, tradition, belief, or nonbelief. All are welcome!

Each session consists of two 20-minute guided mindfulness meditation periods with a short reading and discussion of the practice in-between. Open to everyone regardless of whether you are a beginner or an experienced meditator. Come as you are! Suggested donation: $5 NOTE: You are welcome to bring your own cushion if you wish.
