Just a heads-up regarding a street painting festival that is coming up this weekend in downtown Houston. If you are interested, Houston Photowalks is doing a meetup at this event. If you're interested and like to meet up with other photographers, you can RSVP on the Houston Photowalks meetup page. This should be a fun event with lots of photo opportunites. Via Colori is also sponsoring a photo contest (details below).

"Experience Houston Via Colori?, a street painting festival in downtown Houston. Celebrate an artistic journey and support a worthy organization for deaf children, The Center for Hearing and Speech (CHS).
Watch the progress of colossal-sized works of art completely created on asphalt by more than 200 artists. The two-day festival also features food, two stages of live music, a festival-wide scavenger hunt, facepainting and more throughout a spectacular fall weekend in Sam Houston Park and the surrounding streets of Allen Parkway and Bagby" (

"The Center for Hearing and Speech presents the Houston Via Colori? 2009 Photography Contest.
Submit your best photographs taken ? only ? during the Houston Via Colori 2009 Street Painting festival, November 21 and 22, 2009, downtown in Sam Houston Park. Twenty-four of the best images taken will be selected by Bevin Bering Dubrowski, HCP Interim Executive Director (exception: ?The Best Spirit of the Festival? selected by CHS staff). The selected images will then be printed, exhibited and auctioned at Houston Via Colori 2010 as part of the fundraising efforts by The Center of Hearing and Speech."
